COMMUNITY IS US
You did this. Together, the Quad Cities raised $2.97 million to strengthen shelter, housing, and the support that helps neighbors move from crisis to stability.
Thank you to our lead supporters
The businesses, foundations, and community partners who invested in Community Is Us. Every donor, at every level, is recognized in the Campaign Impact Report.

With deep gratitude to our leadership-level family and individual donors: Susan Balciulis & Michael Kelly, the Golinvaux Family, Dr. Lloyd Kilmer & Georgianna Koenig, the Joyce and Tony Singh Family, and Thoms Family Giving.
Invest in housing.
Invest in hope.
What your support built
Community Is Us invested in both people and places: safer shelter, one-on-one support, and homes that last.

Emergency shelter & resource coordination
Commercial laundry, updated electrical, security cameras, and two Resource Coordinators who help guests recover documents, access benefits, and find housing. Neither role existed before the campaign.

Supportive housing
A SOAR Benefits Specialist has helped 23 people apply for disability benefits since August 2025, and stability funds cover the unexpected costs that can put a home at risk.

Mission-focused capital
Siding, roofs, windows, decks, heating and cooling, and emergency repairs. Safer homes today, and a stronger foundation for HHSI's future.

In their own words
Neighbors share what HHSI's support and staff mean to them.

It's a wonderful thing that we have places like this to help. They do a wonderful job.

The info the coordinator gives us is good advice. They encourage you to be better. This is my second stay here, but I'm determined to make it work this time.

The staff are very helpful. They treat you like a real person and are very nice. They are helping me find a place to call home.

I've only been here for two days but they are already helping me look for housing here. There are no options in Chicago, so I ended up here.
That support was a bridge between the difficult place I was in and the stable place I am today. I will always be grateful that those resources were there when my family and I needed them most.
The campaign is complete. The work continues.
