Faith in Action

We are stronger together.

Humility Homes and Services was honored to host our Faith in Action event earlier this spring, bringing together community members, faith partners, and supporters for a meaningful time of engagement and reflection. The event highlighted our shared commitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in the greater Quad Cities area, while offering opportunities for hands-on involvement and connection. Through collective effort and compassion, the day reinforced the importance of community-driven solutions and the impact we can make when we come together with purpose.

There are still ways to get involved

Faith in Action was never intended to be a one-day event—it was meant to be the beginning of an ongoing movement. Our hope was to bring together faith leaders, congregations, community partners, and supporters around the shared belief that everyone deserves a place to call home and that ending homelessness requires all of us working together.

Since the event this spring, we've seen that momentum continue in meaningful ways. Several congregations have come to our campus to volunteer alongside our staff, helping with projects that directly benefit the individuals and families we serve. Others have organized donation drives, collecting much-needed household items, hygiene products, and other essentials that help our participants as they work toward stable housing. Those partnerships have been incredibly encouraging because they demonstrate that people don't just want to hear about the issue—they want to be part of the solution.

We also know this is just the beginning. There are countless ways faith communities can make a lasting impact, whether it's volunteering, hosting collection drives, supporting affordable housing initiatives, sharing our mission with their congregations, or simply helping raise awareness about homelessness in our community. Every congregation has unique gifts and talents, and we want to help connect those strengths with meaningful opportunities to serve.

One of the biggest takeaways from Faith in Action is that people are eager to help when they're given a clear path to get involved. We continue to welcome conversations with churches and faith-based organizations that want to partner with us, whether that's through one-time service projects or long-term relationships. Together, we can ensure that more of our neighbors have the support they need to move from homelessness to housing and hope.
