Lived Experience Advisory Board

Are you experiencing or have you experienced homelessness in your lifetime and want to impact local homeless policies?

Humility Homes & Services, Inc.  is seeking people who are experiencing or who have experienced homelessness in to join our Lived Experience Board (LEAB). The LEAB provides input and recommendations to the administration and Board of Directors at HHSI who are committed to their mission of ending homelessness by offering housing opportunities and supportive services in the greater Quad Cities area.

LEAB  membership is accepted on an on-going basis, filling vacant positions on a quarterly basis. There will be at least 9 members and up to 15 members at a given time. LEAB member commitments include: 

▪ Participate for a minimum of 1 year, with the opportunity of serving up to 2 years 
▪ Attend monthly 1.5 hour, afternoon meetings on the first Thursday of the month either in person or via online technology software (i.e. Zoom)
▪ Make recommendations to the administration staff and Board of Directors of Humility Homes Services, Inc. and work with other LEAB members to create the information shared. 
▪ Receive, review and make recommendations on grievances brought forth by current participants of HHSI.
▪ Share from your own experiences of homelessness, not on behalf of an agency 
▪ Inform and lead ways to gather consumer input separate from the LEAB 
▪ Respect the views and experiences of other members of the LEAB

Members will be compensated for their participation through grocery store and/or other gift card stipends in the following increments: 

▪ Up to 2.5 hours - $25
▪ 2.5 – 5 hours - $50
▪ 5+ hours - $75
